This week I wrap up the 2nd to last course for my master degree in organizational leadership. Only my capstone course remains!
For our final e-portfolio assignment we were asked to answer the following question: Where you are now in your personal and academic development, and where you want to be in the future?
The journey through my personal and academic development is continuing. On the academic side, my goal of completing my master’s degree is nearly complete. I’ve been able to redefine and clarify certain leadership concepts that were first introduced to me during my undergraduate work. I’ve gained a firmer understanding of what is needed to become an effective leader and what to expect in today’s workplace. I do aspire to continue with graduate courses, and possibly pursue a PhD; however, I am unsure if and when I would be able to do so.
As for my personal development, I will continue to find ways to incorporate what I’ve learned throughout my academic career into my personal and professional life. Many of the concepts I’ve learned are now a part of my daily habits. I’ve also found myself analyzing the various situations of today’s world to better pinpoint where some of the concepts I’ve learned would beneficial. In the future, I want to be known as an informed effective leader that will be able to anticipate and adapt to any challenges that may arise. With only one leadership course left to complete, my development from here will be based primarily on self-learning and real-world experience.
