From these strengths the one I believe I could focus on using more intentionally is connectedness. This trait means that I believe every event has a reason, and that there are links between things and events. By utilizing this trait I would increase my problem solving and troubleshooting abilities. For example, I could work on my ability to analyze situations and seek to find what caused a problem, and how differing solutions could impact future events.
The trait that stood out to me the most is also the one I can say I have had the most recent success with. This trait isn’t something I would’ve seen in myself ten years ago. It took some time to work through many difficulties and setbacks to finally be able to see it in myself, and that would be achiever. At one point in my life, I had many ambitions, and every course I started to complete those tasks usually ended in disaster or tragedy. Finally, one day everything started to just click, and I had most of it figured out. Some of my original setbacks were with finding ways to complete college. I started back in school around 30 years old and broke it down into manageable goals. For example, I got my associates first, before assessing if I could afford to move to getting a 4-year degree. After realizing a M.B.A. wasn’t something I could afford, I found a further degree that would be useful and practical.
Even as I worked through the various degrees, I focused on consistently try to improve on my grades, and as I did that, I was able to learn how to efficiently manage my time. I had many days where I wanted to focus on other things; however, I prioritized what I felt was most important to me now and kept reminding myself that after this portion of my education is done, I can then move on to other things I would like to experience or complete.
Quite honestly, the only projects I have that are not completed are some art/painting projects, and then some books I didn’t have enough free time to read while in school. It didn’t bother me that the artwork wasn’t finished, since that is the mind of an artist. Even an unfinished piece of work has a story behind it, and you can always finish it later if you so choose to.
